Alex Muir is a technical director — and the occasional scenic designer — whose passion lies in creative problem solving and fabrication. Originally from Orlando, Florida, Alex is currently a senior at the University of Southern California, pursuing a BFA in Technical Direction with a minor in Themed Entertainment. With over eight years of hands-on experience in theater and live entertainment, she has built a strong foundation in both creative design and technical execution — from drafting and rigging to budgeting and scenic builds.

 

At USC, Alex has proudly served as the president of the USITT student chapter for two consecutive years, leading a community of emerging designers and technicians. Outside of the shop, you can find her getting way too excited about Halloween all year round, exploring LA, building a new Lego set, or hunting down the nearest photo booth with her friends.
